LIGHT AND COLOUR ILLUSIONS
CRITICAL LINK:
Night photography is known for its mystery and atmosphere between man and darkness, and this is exactly what I want to explore, using both film and digital cameras to compare and observe techniques of famous night and street photographers.
Artists: Adam Magyar
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom
This time I wanted to experiment with using a scanner. For this stage I wanted to delve more into how light and colour can change the atmosphere, perspective or the very meaning of a photograph. With the help of light you can create a photograph but you can also stretch it. I wanted to create or change the very realism of the photograph and its dimension in a kind of glitch. To do this I printed my photographs on paper and then scanned them in this way: when the scanner started scanning I waited a couple of seconds and then when it reached a certain place I started moving the photographs behind the scanner until it reached the end and did not detach another part of the photograph. This stretched the picture horizontally, and added a cyclical unpredictability which created an interesting illusion.
